The South Dakota Ellsworth Development Authority is critical for the growth and expansion of missions at Ellsworth Air Force Base. The organization strives to work with local partners including military organizations, installations, senior leadership, elected officials, and community members in four key areas.
The Authority has developed a strong network of state and local entities committed to partnering in support of our military.
The Authority, the city of Box Elder, and Ellsworth Air Force Based partnered to develop a shared wastewater treatment facility. This facility allows both the city of Box Elder and residents of EAFB to send all their water to one facility instead of having to build two. This has resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars saved already, with projected cost savings totaling millions in the future.
South Dakota is an amazing home for military men and women and their families. The Authority works hard to promote the excellence of our military and the support of our communities. It is a critical component in connecting the two entities.
The Authority is committed to protecting the mission and the existence of Ellsworth as an important component of our nation’s security. The training space that the Powder River Training Complex provides our servicemen and women is vital as we head into the future. With continual upgrades and modernization occurring at the PRTC, it is one of the best in the nation.
As EAFB and the state of South Dakota prepare for the future, the Authority is here to support their success. It’s a commitment made by each of the leaders within the organization. The military response of our country is a responsibility for everyone.
Through advocacy, collaboration, vision, and innovation, the Authority works to enhance the military missions within our borders, increase the economic impact the Base has on our state, and connect military members and families to our community.
