St. Patty’s Day Celebrations

St. Patty’s Day Celebrations

Saint Patrick’s Day has become synonymous with hearty food and lively celebrations, and the Black Hills certainly know how to host with the best. While this year’s celebrations are toned down a little, there are still ample opportunities for festive fun.

Deadwood hosts the biggest Saint Patrick’s Day party every year, complete with a parade, prizes, and of course, drink specials. Head to Outlaw Square in downtown to get started and pick up your Deadwood Chamber event cup if you want to take your beverage to go while you walk.

Wobbly Bobbly in Rapid City is hosting a special Saint Patrick’s Irish Whiskey & Dinner Pairing on March 14. You’ll get a three course meal of a Scotch Egg appetizer, Shepherd’s Pie for the main and bread pudding for dessert. Their whiskey expert will be on hand to explain the whiskey pairings as well. Spots are limited, but it promises to be a delicious evening!

The Tri-State Museum in Belle Fourche presents “Blarney!” a short family-friendly comedy about the folks of Irish Gulch, South Dakota. When a mysterious girl named Peg’een comes to town, the locals are curious about her; is she a leprechaun? Did a monster follow her to town? Find out at a performance on March 12 or 13. Admission is $2 per person or free for members.

Looking to get out and enjoy a good corned beef and a green beer? There are several bars and restaurants around town that offer exactly that. Murphy’s Pub and Grill has been a Rapid City favorite for over eight decades now. Paddy O’Neills also hosts its share of Irish-inspired fare year round, but especially close to Saint Patrick’s Day.
