As COVID-19 entered the Midwest region, area economic development and growth organization Elevate Rapid City saw an opportunity to help the business community in the Rapid City area stay alive. Giving restaurants and retailers the space to communicate their ever-changing hours and services, Elevate Rapid City created the Facebook group “Rapid City To Go” in March 2020. Now, two months later, the group actively supports hundreds of local businesses and has over 13,000 followers.
How to Join
To follow along with business updates in the Rapid City area, you can follow the master list on elevaterapidcity.com or join the group on Facebook. To join, it’s simple. Just send a request and the admins will review it for entry. Once you are in, search through the different topics and find ideas for your next meal or retail purchase.
If you are a local business who would like to join the group, you can do the following:
- ask to join the group
- list your restaurant / business name
- list your phone number & address
- list any special offers or deals happening
- create your simple & clear message for followers of the group
What to Expect
There are businesses and individuals who will share opportunities to support local Black Hills Businesses through posting within the group each day. From sharing daily specials and offers to posting reviews on businesses, this group is a great way to try something new. Join in and post your photos of local stops, too!
