The Steps to Creating a Business Listing
Simply watch the quick video below or continue to the written steps.
Open your preferred web browser on your desktop, tablet or mobile device and type in blackhillswire.com into your URL bar or search space. Once you are on our home page, click on “Discounts” and then select “Business Directory.”
From there you’ll want to make sure your business is not already uploaded or claimed. A blue checkmark next to the business indicates that the listing has been claimed. Go to the search bar, click on categories or simply scroll through the listings to find your business.
If your business is not claimed, simply click into the business profile to claim it. In the right hand column you’ll see blue text that reads “Claim Now!” Click there and complete the form to claim your business. If you did not find your business, continue to the next step to create an account.
Let’s create an account. Click “Sign In” in the top right corner and a box will appear, then click ‘Sign Up.” Enter in a username and password and click “Register.” You’ll receive an email from us containing a temporary password.
After entering your username and temporary password, you will be logged into your profile. Click your name in the top right corner of the home page to be redirected to your Profile Dashboard.
Here, you will want to add your first name, last name, your country, and any other information you would like. Scrolling down to the bottom of the page, update your password to something you will remember. Then, click “Update Profile.” Refresh your page by clicking “My Profile” in the top lefthand corner.
About Your Dashboard
Your Profile Dashboard on Black Hills Wire is a hub of information for you to list and bookmark as someone in the military community, Black Hills area, or as an organization/business.
On the left side of your dashboard, you will see the following tabs:
“Saved” is a space to save the business discounts you want to use and easily access. Simply click the bookmark in the business listing to add it to your profile.
“Events” is the tab you will look at to view the events you are hosting/adding to Black Hills Wire’s Things To Do.
This space allows you to create a calendar of the events you have found interest in attending on the Black Hills Wire website.
Your inbox will host messages to you from other users and/or the website administrator as needed.
Add A Discount
Now that you have a business profile set up, you’ll want to add a discount. Click “+ Add Discount” found in the top right hand corner of the page. This will bring you to a form that will collect information about your business. Please complete.
Next you’ll want to choose a category. Make sure it fits your business best. From there the form will prompt you to add in pricing information, business hours, tag-lines, descriptions, social accounts, imagery, logos and your discount.
Once you have completed the form, click “Save” and your listing will be submitted to our admin for review. If you forgot any information, no worries. You’re able to update and edit your profile at anytime. Simply go to your dashboard, click “listing” and “edit.” This will take you to the same form that you filled out to create your listing in the beginning. Once you click “save” your changes will be live.
