Today, Black Hills Energy serves over 820 communities in eight states. Not only do they provide consistent, reliable energy to their customers, they also believe in making tomorrow even better than today. They’ve committed to a cleaner energy future that provides a safe, reliable, and affordable energy for their customers’ lives, not to mention our planet. While pursuing this goal, they’ve cut their emissions intensity by over 30% since 2005, and aim to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions 50% by 2035.
Beyond their every day service, Black Hills Energy believes in giving back to the communities they’re a part of. Through charitable giving, volunteer hours, and scholarships, they help their neighbors in many facets of life. In the past year alone, their efforts resulted in more than $5.5 million of direct impact on communities throughout their service area, including $1.6 million in South Dakota.
